Sustainability

We recognise the impacts that our operations may have on the environment, whether through our procurement or our manufacturing processes.

We’ve developed the IFS Environmental Policy to guide our actions in reducing our impacts associated with procurement, energy, water, and waste.
We firmly believe that addressing these material areas is not only the right thing to do but also unlocks greater value for our customers, helping them succeed in the marketplace.

Environmental Roadmap

Our immediate and near-term actions will follow the IFS Environmental Roadmap 2024-2027. We will continuously review our performance and update our targets with each three-yearly cycle.

2024 Q3-Q4
  • Baseline intensity: 327 kWh/t*
  • Devise and kickstart reduction activities: Solar Panel Installation, Heating/Chilling Optimisation, Pipe Insulation
  • Establish target: 20% reduction in average intensity by Q4 2026 vs baseline intensity
2025

Complete implementation of proposed reduction activities by Q4 2025.

2026

Data collection year: Ensure monthly energy consumption data is collected and input into data analysis sheet.

2027
  • Progress stock take and target re-evaluation year
  • Analyze 2026 data to evaluate progress to target
  • Energy audit can be conducted to assist with setting of new target and further reduction opportunities

*Base year: 2023

2024 Q3-Q4
  • Baseline intensity: 0.244m3/t*
  • Devise and kickstart reduction activities: washing bay redesign, tap and toilet efficiency improvements
  • Establish target: 10% reduction in average intensity by Q4 2026 vs baseline intensity
2025

Complete implementation of proposed reduction activities by Q4 2025.

2026

Data collection year: Ensure that all data on water consumption is collected and input into data analysis sheet.

2027
  • Progress stock take and target re-evaluation year
  • Analyze 2026 data to evaluate progress to target
  • Set new target and devise further reduction activities

*Base year: 2023

2024 Q3-Q4
  • Baseline intensity and recycling rate: 14.2kg/t, 30.7%*
  • Devise and kickstart reduction activities: enhance cardboard and waste chocolate collection, investigate raw material and product packaging recyclability
  • Establish target: 10% reduction in average intensity by Q4 2026, 40% recycling rate
2025

Complete implementation of proposed reduction activities by Q4 2025

2026

Data collection year: Ensure that all data on waste disposal and recycling is collected and input into data analysis sheet

2027
  • Progress stock take and target re-evaluation year
  • Analyze 2026 data to evaluate progress to target
